June 2024 Construction Update
Work at West High School is progressing quickly this summer. Progress to date at this building is focused on these three areas:
Front Entrance and Auditorium Addition – Roof deck and interior walls are installed, roofing and brick are over 90% finished, and work on interior walls continues (paint, drywall)
Fitness Addition – Existing fitness center was demolished and work on footings and foundations work has begun.
Locker Rooms and Interior Renovations – Phase 1 of the locker room renovations is complete and renovations planned for the first and third floor are underway.

Design for Multi-Purpose Field at West High School Approved for Bidding
On May 13, the Board of Education reviewed and approved the final design and budget for the Multi-Purpose Field Project at West High School which means the project is ready for bidding. Some of the notable updates approved include:
new field lighting for football, track and field events
new synthetic turf on existing field for multi-purpose use(Lacrosse, Soccer, Football)
The attached design update highlights field and lighting layouts from the 95% phase. Design work is concluded and work is expected to begin later this Summer.

Design for Multi-Purpose Field at West High School Reaches 50% Milestone
Design work for the multi-purpose field at West High School is 50% complete as the team considers needs to create a space that supports Lacrosse, Soccer, and Football.
To date the user group meetings have focused on athletic field lighting and turf, and the work includes:
new soccer goals, posts, and pads
new areas of concrete
surface area drainage
The attached design update highlights field and lighting layouts at the 50% phase. Design work is expected to conclude this Spring and work is expected to begin later this Summer.

West High School Design Work is 95% Complete
Design work at West High School has impacted all three floors and is now 95% complete, with renderings and floor plans close to final. The Design Team continued its focus on creating future-ready, functional and inspirational spaces for students and staff.
To date there have been 15 user group meetings which included the principal, maintenance staff, teachers, and staff in front office, Theater, Special Education, Physical Education, Athletics, Music, Student Services, Library, Foods, Kitchen, and IT areas.

Design Work is 50% Complete at West High School
PRELIMINARY RENDERING
As West’s Design progresses to the halfway mark, and after weeks of design and user group meetings, plans are coming together with preliminary renderings (at right) and floor plans. Work continues on refining the plans, and areas of focus at this site include:
front office, athletic, and theatre additions
student services, special education, and music wing renovations
robotics, foods, and FCE classroom remodels
commons, kitchen, community room, and PE remodels
